Island Ecopods - Whangaparapara - Great Barrier Island

Island Ecopods is situated in Whangaparapara, right near the harbour, Whangaparapara Wharf and on the edge of the Dept of Conservation Forest Estate.

With the bush all around, you'll regularly see Fantail, Tui, Kereru, Morepork, Finch and Banded Rails from the deck.

There are beautiful forested, tracks, trails and waterfalls within easy walking distance and many a good pan sized snapper has been caught off the local wharf. Safe swimming can be enjoyed right at the wharf and boat ramp which is also a great place to meet the friendly locals.

You'll find three pods connected by a huge deck looking through the Kanuka trees to the harbour in the front. Two of the pods have queen beds with a set of bunks. The bathroom with shower and toilet has dual access off one of the sleeping pods and the deck. The other pod has a kitchen, dining / lounge area and another toilet.

Island Ecopods is a perfect option for hikers coming off the Aotea Track, boaties looking to get ashore for a break and for anyone wanting a peaceful private escape away from the crowds.

Claris Airport, general store, service station, Rocks Bottle Store, My Fat Puku Cafe and the famous Kaitoke Hot Springs are all a mere 15 to 20 minutes away by car.
